When immigrating with his wife to America in 2002, Daniel joined Local 206 San Diego Sheet Metal Workers and worked as a Journeyman for SDSMW/California Sheet Metal for a couple of years on major commercial sheet metal projects. In 2004, Daniel was hired by Ehmcke Sheet Metal, founded by German immigrant William Ehmcke in 1927. There Daniel had the great privilege to work with top-notch craftsmen on custom residential and commercial projects throughout La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe, working with copper, zinc, stainless steel and titanium. In 2005, at the age of 24, Daniel was a foreman for the installation of the largest copper roof system in Southern California on a project called Coronado Community Center and City Hall on Coronado Island in San Diego. In 2005 Daniel and Michaela relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles to start their business.
